  I consulted the dentist to put on new crowns. Then mysteriously he made me lie flat on my back, put my head back in an awkward position and asked me to open and close my jaw. He then declared that when closing my jaw one of my teeth came into contact before the rest of my teeth. The dentist then declared that I suffered from TMJ. I told the dentist that I do not normally open and close my jaw in such a weird position. The dentist asked if I had headaches or any other pain. I said that I had no pain whatsoever anywhere. And when I asked what the cost of TMJ treatment would be, he refused to answer. Considering that I have seen a number of dentists over the past 20 years and none of them said that I suffered from TMJ, I considered this rather odd. I told the dentist that I do not suffer from TMJ and that I just wanted new crowns. The dentist insisted that I did suffer from TMJ and that if he put new crowns on me that the new crowns would chip and that I would then blame him for it. I again repeated that I do not want any TMJ treatment. The dentist then said that he would not perform the crowns and walked out of the room. This is a weird way to practice dentistry. Apparently the dentist wants to perform TMJ treatment whether you need it or not.
